SHANGHAI, Oct. 11 (SMM) - Vedanta Resources said its zinc output slid year-on-year in the first half of fiscal year ending September 30, while copper, aluminum and iron ore output increased, wenhua.com reports.
The firm’s zinc production in India reached 318,000 tonnes as of September 30, down 33% year-on-year, because output at its Rampura Agucha mine declined. Its refined zinc output in India decreased 29% year-on-year to 150,000 tonnes.
The company’s copper output in India grew 3% year-on-year to 97,000 tonnes, and its copper output in Zambia decreased 1% year-on-year to 47,000 tonnes.
Aluminum production increased 27% year-on-year to 296,000 tonnes, with iron ore output up 78% year-on-year to 800,000 tonnes.
