Zhejiang will phase out a total of 617,400 tonnes of cast capacity, according to the obsolete capacity elimination target for 2016, SMM reports.

SHANGHAI, Sep. 28 (SMM) - Zhejiang will phase out a total of 617,400 tonnes of cast capacity, according to the obsolete capacity elimination target for 2016, SMM reports.

These capacities are from 60 foundry factories in Zhejiang’s Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Taizhou and Lishui.

Will this take a toll on local die-cast zinc alloy producers?

SMM understands most of these said foundry plants cut or suspended capacity due to cash crunch. Most of them are electric appliance accessory manufacturers, whose die-cast zinc alloy consumption is limited. So local die-cast zinc alloy producers will be barely hurt.
