SHANGHAI, Sep. 28 (SMM)- Copper output at BHP Billiton’s Escondida mine fell 22% year-on-year to 539,824 tonnes in the first half of 2016 due to lower grade, according to wenhua.com.
Sales revenue at the mine slid 35% year-on-year to $2.74 billion because of lower output and falling copper prices.
The firm’s profit totaled $527 million in the first half of the year, a drop of 52% year-on-year. Cost decreased 30% year-on-year.
