DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingSHANGHAI, Sep. 22 (SMM) - China’s exports of unwrought copper including copper alloy jumped to 57,265 tonnes in August, up over 4-fold compared to the same period of last year, China Customs reports.
The big growth in copper exports is not a result of deteriorating downstream demand, SMM said. Several large domestic traders and smelters delivered large amounts of goods recently, which contributed to a dramatic increase in LME copper inventories. This explains the sharp growth in exports.
