BEIJING (Scrap Register): China's August output of ferroalloys decreased 9 percent year on year to 2.95 million mt, according to latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). There has been a 4.8 percent decrease month on month in the August figures, Platts reported.
The report did not provide a breakdown on the export of the various ferroalloys. Some of the commonly exported ferroalloys include ferrosilicon, silicomanganese, ferrochrome, ferromolybdenum and ferrotungsten.
Ferroalloys are mainly used in the production of steels and alloys. Over January-August, Output decreased 2 percent year on year to 23.45 million mt. NBS updates its production figures without prior notice from time to time.
