DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightSANTIAGO (Scrap Register): During the first seven months of the year, Silver production of Chile increased 1.6 percent to 885.8 mt from the same period last year, as per the government data.
Chile is the world's fifth largest producer of the precious metal, behind Peru, Mexico, the US and Australia, mostly as a by-product in the country's many copper mines.
During January and July Chile produced about 23.3 mt of gold, little changed from the same period last year. Chilean gold production fell 7.4% last year to 40.8 mt.
