China Auto Sales Growth Hits a 3.5-Year High in August

SHANGHAI, Sept. 12 (SMM) – China reported its auto sales at 2.07 million units in August, a year-on-year growth of 24.2%, marking a 3.5-year high, according to China Automobile Industry Association.

Auto sales in China totaled 16.76 million units in January-August, up 11.4% YoY, versus a year-on-year rise of 9.8% in January-July.

Domestic sales of passenger vehicles were 1.8 million units in August, rising 26.3% YoY, flat with July. The figure was 14.44 million units during January-August, growing 12.8% YoY, compared with a growth of 11.1% YoY in January-July.
