India Containerized Shredded Scrap import prices slide

MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import average prices slightly down during the week ended July 29, while India's major plastic scrap prices on Scrap Register Price Index showed an up trend.

According to TSI, obsolete shredded scrap prices in the Indian containerized market dropped $3 a ton during the week to $218 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port. 

Bids for South African origin HMS #1&2 80:20 were heard at $205 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva whereas shredded material ranged between $220-225 a ton CFR. 

Buying activity has been limited again as buyers prefer domestic alternatives such as sponge iron (DRI).

The major plastic scrap commodities advanced on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like Acrylic, API, C.P.W, HD Blowing, HD Moulding (Colour), Hips(Baff), LLDP Blowing, PVC pest grade, PVC resin desi traded higher during the week.
