Silicon Metal Producers in Inner Mongolia to Resume Production, SMM Reports

At present, only two silicon metal producers are in operation in Inner Mongolia, Shanghai Metals Market reports.

SHANGHAI, Sep. 8 (SMM) – At present, only two silicon metal producers are in operation in Inner Mongolia, Shanghai Metals Market reports.

Environmental protection inspections had finished about over half month ago in the region, and many small plants, failing to meet requirements, remain offline.

Some offline producers in the region said to resume production in late September, SMM learns.

On Sep. 8, traded prices of #553 silicon metal (oxygen free) were 9,300-9,400 yuan per tonne at the Port of Tianjin, according to SMM data.
