Northern European HRC Steel prices down further to €415 per ton

Northern Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices down further by €09 a ton week-on-week to €415 per ton in the week ended July 15, as per the latest figures released by The Steel Index.

LONDON (Scrap Register): Northern  Europe hot rolled cold (HRC) steel prices down further by €09 a ton week-on-week  to €415 per ton in the week ended July 15, as per the latest figures released by  The Steel Index.

The activities during the week  indicated a healthy price spread of bookings across Northern Europe. Some deals  for large tonnages were done around the €410 per ton mark whilst other orders  were pegged closer to €420-425 per ton.

Buyers continue to approach the  market with caution, with the general sentiment that prices are expected to fall  come Q4.

In Italy, Ilva was heard to be offering HRC nearer to €390 per  ton, though most other Italian suppliers held asking prices stable between  €400-405 per ton.
