China Zijin Mining Zinc Production Jumps 78.5%, Copper down 3.3% in H1 2016

China’s State-owned Zijin Mining said in semiannual report its zinc concentrate output grew 78.5% year-on-year to 123,000 tonnes in the first half of this year, according to finance.qq.com.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 30 (SMM) - China’s State-owned Zijin Mining said in semiannual report its zinc concentrate output grew 78.5% year-on-year to 123,000 tonnes in the first half of this year, according to finance.qq.com.

It produced 74,800 tonnes of copper concentrate in the same period, a slide of 3.3% year-on-year.

Its copper reserves increased 68.5% from 15.43 million to 26 million tonnes after acquisition of two large copper mines in 2015. It bought Heilong Mining in the first half of this year, further growing its copper reserves. 

The firm, which mainly mines gold, copper, zinc and lead, saw profit fall 59.86% year-on-year to 538 million yuan in H1 2016.
