Copper ore imports arriving at the Port of Qinzhou, Guangxi Province soared in the first seven months of this year, local paper reported.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 22 (SMM) - Copper ore imports arriving at the Port of Qinzhou, Guangxi Province soared in the first seven months of this year, local paper reported.

Copper ores arriving at Qinzhou jumped to 107,000 tonnes and were valued at 1 billion yuan, a rise of 78.9% and 81.3% year-on-year, respectively.

Copper producers stepped up ore purchases due to low price, higher TC/RCs of copper concentrate and active demand from downstream industries.
