The Anti-Dumping commission of Australian department has officially launched an investigation into the alleged dumping and subsidisation of aluminium extrusions imported from Malaysia and Vietnam.

AUSTRALIA August 18 2016 4:35 PM

CANBERRA (Scrap Register): The  Anti-Dumping commission of Australian department has officially launched an  investigation into the alleged dumping and subsidisation of aluminium extrusions  imported from Malaysia and Vietnam.

Australian aluminium extrusion  manufacturer Capral Limited lodged an application to the commission asking for  the investigation earlier on June 27.

The application says that the  exports to Australia were at a price less than their normal value and were in  receipt of countervailing subsidies from Malaysia and Vietnam, which in the form  of price suppression, loss of profits and increased stocks caused injury to  Australian industry.

The investigation will examine exports of the goods  to Australia from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, and losses from July 1, 2012.  The product is currently subject to a 5 percent tariff.
