MMG Las Bambas Produces 87,000 tonnes of Copper by June

MMG's Las Bambas copper mine has produced 87,000 tonnes of copper as of late June, according to China Minmetals’ website.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 15 (SMM) - MMG's Las Bambas copper mine has produced 87,000 tonnes of copper as of late June, according to China Minmetals’ website.

It reached commercial production in July and annual capacity is expected to be 450,000 tonnes in the first five years after commissioning.

Las Bambas plans to produce 250,000-300,000 tonnes of copper in 2016, and cash cost is expected to be $0.80-0.90 per pound.
