FOND DU LAC (Scrap Monster): Fond du Lac, Wisconsin-headquartered Sadoff Iron & Metal has announced that the undergoing expansion works at its Omaha, Nebraska scrap metal recycling facility is expected to be completed by mid-August this year. The company had begun construction on a new facility expansion at their current location at 4918 F Street in Omaha, Nebraska this spring.
The expansion will add nearly 5,600 square feet of space to the existing facility, so as to include two new truck docks. The facility expansion will also provide additional 300,000 pounds of covered storage area for unprocessed and ready-to-ship materials. The 35-foot ceiling height of new docks will make the dumping process easier. This will also enhance the safety of employees and customers. Sadoff operates two facilities in Nebraska, with the other facility located in 4400 W. Webster Street, Lincoln.
Sadoff CEO Mark Lasky noted that the company has been able to register continuous growth in the Omaha market over the past several years, despite the sharp decline in commodity prices. Incidentally, effective February 1, 2016, Sadoff Iron & Metal Berlin yard had stopped accepting dealer, peddler and public scrap metals and electronics and had confined itself into an internal material transfer facility. The expansion at the Omaha facility was much needed, he noted. The project will support the company’s growth in the region and lead to increased safety and efficiency of its operations, Lasky added.
To further strengthen the operations at the facility, the company had recently appointed Chip Treas as Regional Marketing Manager – Nebraska and Brian Jacobsen as Buyer/Account Representative.
Earlier towards end-2015, the company had announced that it will start accepting electronic scrap at all its facilities across Wisconsin and Nebraska. As per announcement, the accepted items include computers, cellphones, memory chips, keyboards, circuit boards, hard drives and power cords. Further, it noted that customers will be paid for most of the electronic items. However, some items will not be eligible for financial reimbursement. Additionally disposal fee of 35 cents per pound will be charged on televisions, it noted. The company had also announced reopening of its Oshkosh, Wisconsin scrap metal facility located at 36 E. 10th Ave.
Family owned and locally operated, Sadoff Iron & Metal is the preferred scrap metal recycling company with many customer-friendly scrap metal recycling centers in Wisconsin and Nebraska. The company, founded by Edward Rudoy in 1947 is a ferrous, nonferrous and electronic scrap metal processing company with headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The company has nine recycling facilities located throughout Wisconsin and Nebraska. Sadoff provides scrap metal recycling, processing and management services to industry, foundries, steel mills and smelters. Sadoff conducts business in 41 states as well as Canada, Mexico, China, India, Taiwan and South Korea.
