Mexico imposes anti-dumping duty on Chinese wire rod

Imports on wire rod from China are being imposed anti-dumping duty of 49 cents/kg by the Mexican Economy Secretariat.

MEXICO CITY (Scrap Register): Imports on wire rod from China are being imposed anti-dumping duty of 49 cents/kg by the Mexican Economy Secretariat. 

Domestic producers ArcelorMittal, Ternium and Deacero are the petitioners of the investigation which started in September 2015. April 2014 to March 2015 was the period of investigation and April 2012 to March 2015 was the period of damage analysis. 

The Secretariat informed "The results of the investigation indicated that the domestic industry faced a vulnerable condition, forced to decrease its selling price to the domestic market to compete with the imported products under investigation, which resulted in negative performance during the period under review"
