SHANGHAI, Jul. 29 (SMM) –TCs of domestic zinc concentrate (50%) were 4,700-5,000 yuan per tonne (zinc content) this past week. Those for imported zinc concentrate (50%) were $85-110 per dry metric tonne (DMT), with the low-end of $80 but no trade reported.
Easing ore supply tightness helped slow declines in domestic zinc concentrate TCs, SMM said. Mines were moving goods actively as zinc prices rose. Restarts at mines were affected by environmental protection inspections, though.
Ore supply tightness in Hunan’s Huayuan remained severe as production at local mining and beneficiation plants was affected by safety inspections.
Losses from imported ore narrowed to 1,500-1,600 yuan per tonne (zinc content) compared with domestic ore this past week due to higher SMM/LME zinc price ratio and stable TCs of imported zinc concentrate, SMM adds.
