SHANGHAI, Jul. 22 (SMM) – Technical side shows downward pressure for LME lead next week and the three-month contract may struggle around $1,860 per tonne,SMM reckons.
On the SHFE market, the September-delivery lead should challenge 13,500 yuan per tonne, supported by positive technical indicators, tight supply and improved demand.
Spot lead in China will trade at 13,200-13,400 yuan per tonne. Concentrate supply continues falling and hence, some smelters cut operation and hold back sales. Secondary lead supply also turns tight owing to environmental protection inspections. On the demand side, battery makers lift operating rates with coming peak season, growing demand for lead.
