Combined zinc inventories in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong fell 4,100 to 320,600 tonnes this week, according to SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 22 (SMM) - Combined zinc inventories in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong fell 4,100 to 320,600 tonnes this week, according to SMM data.

Zinc inventory decline in Tianjin was significant. Arriving shipments in Tianjin decreased due to transportation problems caused by heavy rains and maintenance at some zinc smelters.

Zinc stocks in Guangdong grew as zinc smelters sold actively at high zinc prices. Downstream consumption, however, was anemic.

Total inventories in the three regions are expected to grow next week, with increase expected in Tianjin and Shanghai, SMM anticipates.
