India Containerized Shredded Scrap import prices remain flat

India containerized shredded scrap import prices remained flat during the week ended June 17, while India's major plastic scrap prices on Scrap Register Price Index showed a down trend.

MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import prices remained flat during the week ended June 17, while India's major plastic scrap prices on Scrap Register Price Index showed a down trend.

Obsolete shredded scrap prices in the Indian containerized market held steady the week at $232 a ton CFR Nhava Sheva port. 

Secondary steelmakers in India will have experienced improved margins with the recent fall in scrap prices along with improved domestic rebar sales.

Nevertheless, the constant threat of a widening rebar price spread between domestic and Chinese exports could limit further upside in finished steel prices. 

The major plastic scrap commodities down on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like Acrylic, API, C.P.W, HD Blowing, HD Moulding (Colour), Hips(Baff), LLDP Blowing, PVC pest grade, PVC resin desi traded down.
