Four nickel mines in Zambales and another mine in Palawan have been ordered to stop operations, the country’s national station reported Saturday.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 19 (SMM) – Four nickel mines in Zambales and another mine in Palawan have been ordered to stop operations, the country’s national station reported Saturday.

The reason behind the closure of the four in Zambales is due to their failure to reach safety standards, and the mine in Palawan was closed because of destroying the environment, according to the report.
