Zhejiang’s Ningbo Receives Its Highest Copper Concentrate Imports in Value

A shipload of copper concentrate worth 89.95 million yuan, imported from Peru’s Matarani, arrived at the Port of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province July 12, weighing 11,330 tonnes.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 15 (SMM) – A shipload of copper concentrate worth 89.95 million yuan, imported from Peru’s Matarani, arrived at the Port of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province July 12, weighing 11,330 tonnes. The import value is the highest in record, people.cn reports.

Ningbo’s Zhoushan Port services China’s major copper producing regions, including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui and Shanghai, which claim 51.84% of domestic copper output. Combined copper production by Anhui and Jiangxi represents 30% of national total.

Peru boasts largest copper ore reserves and output in the world, and topped the list of China’s copper ore supplying countries in May 2016.
