Profit at aluminum smelters in China keeps expanding thanks to rising aluminum prices and falling alumina prices, SMM learned.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 11 (SMM) –Profit at aluminum smelters in China keeps expanding thanks to rising aluminum prices and falling alumina prices, SMM learned.

Smelters surveyed by SMM reported an average profit of 1,600 yuan per tonne as of last week.

Last week, average spot aluminum price in domestic market rose to 12,954 yuan per tonne, while weighted average alumina price in four major markets fell to 1,875 yuan per tonne.
