SHFE Copper Closes Down (Jul. 8 , 2016)

Last night, SHFE 1609 copper opened lower at RMB 36,960/mt and rallied to RMB 37,100/mt with entering of longs.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 8 (SMM) – Last night, SHFE 1609 copper opened lower at RMB 36,960/mt and rallied to RMB 37,100/mt with entering of longs. The contract sank to RMB 36,460/mt and ended at RMB 36,580/mt, slipping RMB 470/mt. Positions were up 13,500.

On Friday, SHFE 1609 copper started at RMB 36,600/mt and advanced to RMB 36,700/mt. The contract dipped to RMB 36,450/mt and finally closed at RMB 36,620/mt, down RMB 430/mt. Positions were down 6,044. Positions of all SHFE copper contracts dropped 72 to 590,000 with trading volumes at 590,000 lots.

SHFE 1609 copper should fluctuate around RMB 36,700/mt tonight.

SHFE 1601 copper started at RMB 35,300/mt for night trading Tuesday and advanced to RMB 35,370/mt due to exit of shorts.
