MMG Las Bambas Enters Commercial Production

China Minmetals Group’s MMG announced July 7 its Las Bambas copper mine in Peru reached commercial production on July 1, it said on its website.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 8 (SMM) – China Minmetals Group’s MMG  announced July 7 its Las Bambas copper mine in Peru reached commercial production on July 1, it said on its website.

Its mining capacity outstripped 400,000 tonne per day. Two production lines in its copper ore beneficiation plant have reached designed capacity.

Las Bambas plans to produce 250,000-300,000 tonnes of copper in 2016, and cash cost is expected to be $0.80-0.90 per pound.
