Philippines to Increase Nickel Ore Shipments in July, SMM Expects

Nickel ore shipments from the Philippines are expected to grow in July, Shanghai Metals Market foresees.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 1 (SMM) – Nickel ore shipments from the Philippines are expected to grow in July, Shanghai Metals Market foresees. 

“Recently, domestic large NPI producers are active in buying nickel ore, and major domestic traders had sold out Philippine ores in late June or early July,” SMM nickel analyst says. 

China Nickel Ore Inventories Keep Growing, SMM Reports

Currently, CIF prices for Ni 1.5% ore are $30 per wmt, up $ 0.5-1 per mtu on a weekly basis, SMM data show. 

In June, nickel ore shipments from the Philippines increased by around 15 per cent from May, according to SMM data.
