SHANGHAI, Jul. 1 (SMM) – BHP Billiton plans to invest $9 million in copper and petroleum exploration next year, a rise of 29% in its exploration budget, cngold.com reports.
Its exploration expenditure will account for 18% of the total $5 billion budget in 2017 fiscal year.
The company is now increasing investment whilst other rivals are acting to reduce expenditures. Its copper exploration will focus in Chile, Peru, US, Canada and South Africa.
