Operational alumina capacity in China will continue growing in June due to restarted and new capacity, SMM expects based on our survey.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 27 (SMM) – Operational alumina capacity in China will continue growing in June due to restarted and new capacity, SMM expects based on our survey.

SMM sees annualized operational alumina capacity in the country at 58.29 million tonnes in June.

China’s alumina output rose 5% month-on-month and 1.96% year-on-year to 4.85 million tonnes in May, and annualized operational alumina capacity totaled 57.09 million tonnes, SMM statistics showed.
