NPI Production Costs Fall in Jiangsu after Power Price Cuts, SMM Reports

Production costs at NPI producers in Jiangsu are expected to fall after local government lowers power prices, Shanghai Metals Market reports.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 22 (SMM) – Production costs at NPI producers in Jiangsu are expected to fall after local government lowers power prices, Shanghai Metals Market reports. 

Electricity prices for industrial, commercial and other consuming sectors will be cut by 0.73 yuan per kwh from Jun. 1 in Jiangsu Province. The Province has made a total cut of 3.85 yuan per kwh in power prices since the beginning of 2016. 

Shandong NPI Producers May Stop Production, SMM Reports

“Production costs at local NPI producers are expected to fall by 15-17 yuan per mtu after the cut, creating profit room,” SMM estimates.
