US Steel Scrap exports to Turkey down drastically in April

United States steel scrap exports to Turkey down drastically by 14% year-on-year to 261,488 tons during April this year and gained 5.5% from a month ago.

NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States steel scrap exports to Turkey down drastically by 14% year-on-year to 261,488 tons during April this year and gained 5.5% from a month ago, as per the latest figures released by the US Department of Commerce (DOC).

According to official data, US totally exported 969,409 tons of steel scrap during April this year, up 2.6% as compared to 95,288 tons in March and declined sharply by 17% from 1.167 million tons in April last year.

The US exported 125,816 tons of steel scrap to South Korea, 121,774 tons to India and 97,979 tons to Taiwan during April.

United States scrap export volume hit a nine-year lows last year. Country exported 12.976 million tons of steel scrap during last year, declined sharpy by 15.4% as compared to 15.338 million tons a year early.
