SHANGHAI, Jun. 17 (SMM) – Trading activities improved marginally in China’s secondary refined lead market in this past week, SMM said.
This was mainly contributed by stock-building of lead-acid battery makers after China’s Dragon Boat Festival from June 9-11. Price edge of secondary refined lead also helped boost transactions.
Secondary refined lead mainly traded at 12,550-12,650 yuan per tonne (including tax) this week with average price at 12,600 yuan per tonne. SMM #1 lead prices averaged 12,730 yuan per tonne, falling 3.3 yuan per tonne on the weekly basis. Thus, price gap between those two shrank to 130 yuan per tonne from 133 yuan per tonne last week.
Secondary refined lead prices should stabilize next week with support from firm secondary lead prices.
