Shandong NPI Producers May Stop Production, SMM Reports

A new round of environmental protection inspections is going to hit low-grade NPI producers in Shandong, according to Shanghai Metals Market sources.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – A new round of environmental protection inspections is going to hit low-grade NPI producers in Shandong, according to Shanghai Metals Market sources.

Three low-grade NPI producers in Dong'e county, Liaocheng city, Shandong province may close for the inspections in late June or early July, SMM learns, and the suspension period remains unknown.

According to SMM data, the three producers have a total monthly production capacity of around 30,000 tonnes, about 4 per cent of nation’s total.
