SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – Copper concentrate imports via the Port of Dongdu in Xiamen grew 13.61 per cent during the first five months of 2016.
Imports via the port totaled 454,300 tonnes from January to May 2016, and the year-on-year growth bucked the trend of sluggish global economy.
According to China Customs, China imported 1.26 million tonnes of copper ore and concentrate in April, down 8 per cent month-on-month, but up 21 per cent year-on-year, with Jan.-Apr. imports totaling 5.27 million tonnes, up 30.8 per cent on a yearly basis.
