Copper Concentrate Imports via Dongdu Port in Xiamen Grow 13.61 Per cent from Jan. to May

Copper concentrate imports via the Port of Dongdu in Xiamen grew 13.61 per cent during the first five months of 2016.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – Copper concentrate imports via the Port of Dongdu in Xiamen grew 13.61 per cent during the first five months of 2016.  

Imports via the port totaled 454,300 tonnes from January to May 2016, and the year-on-year growth bucked the trend of sluggish global economy.  

According to China Customs, China imported 1.26 million tonnes of copper ore and concentrate in April, down 8 per cent month-on-month, but up 21 per cent year-on-year, with Jan.-Apr. imports totaling 5.27 million tonnes, up 30.8 per cent on a yearly basis.

(TSXV: LUCA) for total consideration of up to US$385 million. The package comprises US$275 million upfront cash, US$15 million in Luca shares, US$35 million deferred to the first anniversary, and up to US$60 million in contingent cash tied to annual average copper prices. Cozamin is forecast to average 20,000 tonnes of copper and 1.3 million ounces of silver annually between 2023 and 2030 at C1 costs of about US$1.51 per payable pound. Closing is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026, requires no shareholder vote, and strengthens Capstone's balance sheet for growth projects in Chile and the United States.

Spot copper in North China was quoted at premiums of 980-1,120 yuan/mt against the front-month contract today, with an average premium of 1,050 yuan/mt, up 430 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. The average transaction price was 112,410 yuan/mt, up 1,805 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.
