Chilean Copper Output Falls 8.2% in April

SHANGHAI, May 31 (SMM) - Chilean government said May 30 the country’s copper output was 432,277 tonnes in April, down 8.2% compared with the 470,740 tonnes in the same period of last year, according to wenhua.com.

The drop is due to falling ore grade which is caused by a heavy rain.

A large number of old mines in the country are suffering falling grade. At the same time, sharp drop in metal prices forced domestic mining companies to slash output.
