SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) – China imported 729,400 units of lead-acid batteries in April, a month-on-month fall of 18.73%, but a year-on-year increase of 47.48%, based on data announced by Customs.
Among the imports, ignition batteries claimed 452,700 units, an increase of 18.70% month-on-month. Other types of batteries accounted for 452,700 units, a month-on-month decline of 31.87%.
Imports contributed by Johnson Controls doubled above 100,000 units in April, the top one importer. The growth of imports is due mainly to growing demand for high-end products with slow battery replacement in domestic market.
