SHFE 1607 lead contract started at RMB 12,740/mt overnight and moved higher to RMB 12,875mt.

SHANGHAI, May 27 (SMM) – SHFE 1607 lead contract started at RMB 12,740/mt overnight and moved higher to RMB 12,875mt. The contract dived to RMB 12,705/mt before closing at RMB 12,735/mt.

SHFE 1607 lead opened at RMB 12,745/mt on Friday and ended up RMB 103/mt or 1.03% at RMB 12,805/mt with the session-low of RMB 12,690/mt and session-high of RMB 12,875/mt. Trading volumes were up 876 to 6,872 lots and positions were down 428 to 14,430.

SHFE 1607 lead may test support at RMB 12,600/mt tonight.

China Copper Anode Imports by Country for August

[Copper Anode Import Data] According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in August 2026, China imported 23,500 mt of copper anode from Zambia, accounting for 36.45% of total imports, down 17.56% MoM and down 17.28% YoY. Imports from the DRC totaled 14,900 mt, accounting for 23.13% of total imports, down 24.40% MoM and up 134.48% YoY. Imports from Malaysia totaled 5,400 mt, accounting for 8.38% of total imports, up 110.25% MoM and up 2,441.61% YoY.
