SHFE 1607 lead contract started at RMB 12,685/mt overnight and moved higher to RMB 12,760/mt before dipping to RMB 12,600/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 25 (SMM) – SHFE 1607 lead contract started at RMB 12,685/mt overnight and moved higher to RMB 12,760/mt before dipping to RMB 12,600/mt. The contract moved around RMB 12,655/mt and closed at RMB 12,660/mt.

SHFE 1607 lead opened at RMB 12,655/mt on Wednesday and moved between RMB 12,620-12,700/mt before ending at RMB 12,650/mt, off RMB 5/mt or 0.04%. Trading volumes were down 1,952 to 6,366 lots and positions were up 942 to 14,306.

SHFE 1607 lead may fall further tonight.

Shanghai Futures Exchange allows overseas traders in nickel futures & options

Effective April 22, 2026 (night session on April 21), nickel futures and options are open to overseas participants. First contracts: NI2605 and subsequent futures, with corresponding options. For margin, overseas traders may use USD at a 0.95 discount rate, valued at the daily RMB central parity rate. Account opening is available immediately.
