SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) – SHFE 1609 nickel started at RMB 68,080/mt for night session last Friday and ranged RMB 68,000-68,600/mt. The contract advanced to RMB 69,110/mt before closing at RMB 68,790/mt.

SHFE 1609 nickel opened at RMB 68,600/mt on Monday and then moved higher to RMB 69,050/mt, and hovered between RMB 68,700-69,000/mt before ending at RMB 68,850/mt, up 0.88%. Trading volumes were down 445,000 to 677,000 lots and positions grew 68 to 591,000.

Today was the last trading day for SHFE 1605 nickel and the contract once grew to RMB 68,300/mt today and closed at RMB 67,180/mt with settlement prices at RMB 67,316/mt. Positions reduced 2,064 to 79,824 and about 39,912 mt of nickel was delivered.
