SHANGHAI, May 13 (SMM) – Inner Mongolia Thai Industry is expected to put online its 1-million tonne stainless steel project this May, local media reported.

The project, in Fengzhen City, Ulanqab, home to many NPI, silicon iron and chromium iron producers, is expected to produce around 40,000 tonnes of stainless steel per month at the initial stage, which will need around 20,000 tonnes of high-grade NPI.

According to SMM data, monthly output of high-grade in Ulanqab was 27,000-28,000 tonnes from January to March, and April’s output grew to 37,000 tonnes as rising prices encouraged production enthusiasm, SMM pointed out.
