SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – China’s aluminum foil exports hit multi-year high in March and many producers remain optimistic over overseas market.
According to China Customs, foil exports surged 30% from February and 26% from a year ago to 94,000 tonnes in March.
Aluminum extrusion exports swelled 44% month-on-month and 106% year-on-year to 104,000 tonnes in March. Aluminum plate/sheet and strip exports spiked 43% month-on-month to 150,000 mt, but down 9% year-on-year.
These brought China’s aluminum semis exports to 360,000 tonnes in March, up from February’s 260,000 tonnes and up 20.6% from a year ago.
