BERLIN (Scrap Monster): As per the latest statistics provided by the German Steel Recycling Federation (BDSV), the country’s scrap prices surged higher during the initial 20 days period in April this year. During this period, the average prices have gone higher by around €31 per ton.
The prices of old scrap stood at €187.20 per ton.
Shredded scrap prices too increased to €187.20 per ton during this period.
Also, prices of new arisings reached €77.80 per ton.
The demand for scrap from the country’s domestic construction sector remained stable during the month of April so far. The international demand too remained strong. The scrap export volumes to Turkey have risen sharply during recent weeks. The scrap orders from India too remained healthy despite sharp rise in freight charges.
