SHFE Zinc Prices Close Higher (2016-4-18)

SHFE 1606 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 14,900/mt last Friday evening, and closed at RMB 15,080/mt, up RMB 185/mt.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 18 (SMM) – SHFE 1606 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 14,900/mt last Friday evening, and closed at RMB 15,080/mt, up RMB 185/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1606 zinc were 278,000, and positions grew 21,000 to 230,000.

Rebar and hot-rolled coil prices surged over 3%. SHFE 1606 zinc hovered rose nearly RMB 300/mt, and reached RMB 15,315/mt, and closed at RMB 14,990/mt, up RMB 95/mt. Trading volumes of SHFE 1606 zinc were up 228,000 to 714,000, and positions increased 13,000 to 223,000.
