Chinese Shagang Group announces hike in rebar and wire rod prices

Chinese Jiangsu Shagang Group has decided to hike its rebar and wire rod prices in its mid-April price list released yesterday.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Major Chinese steelmaker Jiangsu Shagang Group has announced its price list for rebar and wire rods in domestic market for mid-April. The company has decided to hike its rebar and wire rod prices.

According to the company press release, rebar prices will see a hike of RMB80/ton when compared with the current price. The price of HRB400 with thickness ranging from 16mm to 25mm will be RMB2,510 per ton. Also, Shagang Group’s price of HPB300 with thickness of 6.5mm will be RMB2,580 per ton.

The list prices of wire rods also will witness a hike. The prices of 82B wire rods with diameter between 6.5 mm and 9 mm will be hiked by RMB70 per ton. Also, 82B wire rods with diameter ranging from 10 mm to 13 mm will witness price increase of RMB100 per ton for April.

Jiangsu Shagang Group is located in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu, China, an Economic Development Zone of the Yangtze River. It is the largest privately owned company in China. It involves the production and sales of "Shagang" brand name steel products.
