SPOKANE (Scrap Monster): The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has announced the winner of 2016 Design for Recycling (DFR) Award. The award was won by Samsung Electronics America for the use of environmentally-conscious materials and advanced recyclable design in its 2016 Curved Full HD TV. The award was presented during the 2016 ISRI Convention and Exposition which concluded in Las Vegas, NV yesterday.
Mark Newton, head of environmental and regulatory affairs at Samsung Electronics America stated that the company is honored to be recognized by ISRI for its environmental stewardship in product design and innovation.
The 2016 Curved Full HD TV incorporates easy-to-disassemble, snap-together parts that are made with minimal chemical content. The Design for Recycling Award is ISRI’s highest award that is given annually to the most outstanding contribution to products designed with recycling in mind. It recognizes the proactive steps made by manufacturers who have actively incorporated Design for Recycling principles into their products and manufacturing processes.
