ALBANY (Scrap Monster): Washington-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) has announced the winners of its Lifetime Achievement Award. The winners- Manny Bodner and Stanton A. Moss were recognized during the recently concluded ISRI 2016 Convention & Exposition in Las Vegas. The Lifetime Achievement Awards are in recognition of their leadership in the recycling industry and their overall commitment to ISRI.

Upon receiving the award, Bodner noted that the award is the most humbling and tremendous honor on him, after serving and supporting the industry for so long. Moss recollected that the only quality on which he has run the business is honesty. He also emphasized the need for relationships in scrap industry and association with the ISRI.

ISRI President Robin Wiener remembered Bodner’s invaluable contribution to the recycling industry’s efforts to promote the concept of design for recycling among manufacturers. Weiner also commented on Moss’ sincerity and commitment to the betterment of the recycling industry.

Bodner graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1969 and joined his family’s company, Bodner Metal & Iron Corp. He was named president of the company in 1995 and retired from that position in March of this year. Bodner served in a number of leadership roles with ISRI at the national and chapter levels and is currently chair of the Design for Recycling Task Force.

Moss joined his father-in-law’s company, George Stall Metals, in 1960 after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Businness. He served as general manager of the company. After liquidation of the company in 1973, he started his nonferrous brokerage company, Stanton A Moss Inc., the next year. He has served ISRI in many different roles.
