Pakistan imports $1 billion worth Scrap during January

Pakistan has imported $1 billion worth scrap during January this year, an increase of 21% as compared to $826 million a year early and up by 2.4% month-on-month.

ISLAMABAD (Scrap Register): Pakistan has imported $1 billion worth scrap during January this year, an increase of 21% as compared to $826 million a year early and up by 2.4% month-on-month, as per the latest figures from the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS).

According to PFBS, Pakistan has imported 268,897 tons of scrap in quantity during January, an increase of 22.6% as compared to 219,329 tons a year early and flat compare to December last year.

Meantime, Pakistan's steel imports shot up by 30% year-on-year to 271,182 tons during January and the value of steel imports reached $1.71 million, an increase of 14.9% from a year ago.
