SHANGHAI, Mar. 29 (SMM) – China imported 130,000 mt of lead concentrate in February this year, a year-on-year rise of 7.69% and a month-on-month surge of 37.33%, Customs reported.
Lead concentrate imports totaled 225,000 mt in China during January-February, a fall of 10.27% year-on-year accumulatively.
The big month-on-month gain in concentrate imports in February was because domestic lead smelters were eager to import concentrate with rally in profits. Average profit for imported materials were RMB 480/mt (Pb content) above domestic concentrate in January, widening RMB 190/mt (Pb content) from December.
