Ardagh’s Bridgeton, New Jersey facility has earned the prestigious ISO 14001:2004 certification-the much acclaimed international standard for environmental management of business.

SPOKANE (Scrap Monster): Ardagh’s Bridgeton, New Jersey facility has earned the prestigious ISO 14001:2004 certification-the much acclaimed international standard for environmental management of business. This is the company’s fourteenth facility in North America to achieve the ISO certification.

According to John Riordan, President and CEO of Ardagh Group, Glass – North America, the certification demonstrates company’s commitment to environmental responsibility. He further added that the company would continue to devise strategies to minimize environmental impacts by complying with applicable laws and regulations. In addition to ISO certification, the Bridgeton facility had also received US EPA’s ENERGY STAR Plant certification last year. It is also certified by the American Institute of Bakers (AIB) since 2004.

Built in 1966, Ardagh Group’s Bridgeton facility manufactures an unparalleled assortment of glass containers for the food, beverage and spirits markets. The facility specializes in short-runs of distinctive products, and has the ability to offer its customers a wide variety of packaging formats including 6 packs, 12 packs, 24 packs, tray packs and bulk. The facility also has flexible shipping capabilities for smaller quantities and a vast geographic reach.

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized standard for the environmental management of businesses, providing the framework to help organizations minimize their impact on the environment, comply with specific laws and regulations, and work toward continual environmental improvement.

Ardagh Group is a Luxembourg-based producer of glass and metal products. It was founded in 1932 as the Irish Glass Bottle Company. Today, it operates 89 facilities in 21 countries, employs approximately 19,000 people and has more than €4.7 billion in revenue.
