LONDON (Scrap Register): Metal Bulletin Events' Copper Recycling Conference will be held for the fifth time on June 15-17, with the German city of Munich this year playing host to what is said to be a 'unique gathering' of key members of the industry.
The event will focus on copper’s reuse and recycling dynamics, touching upon such subjects as: mining versus recycled copper; economic developments and copper prices; latest market trends in Asia, Europe and North America; e-scrap and copper; and the potential offered by emerging technologies.
As copper scrap’s importance has grown, the value chain has become increasingly complex while recycling data continue to be ‘vague and opaque’, according to Metal Bulletin Events.
The Munich conference will provide ‘a transparent and informative discussion’ of the opportunities and challenges affecting copper recycling, it adds.
Speakers will include Michael Lion, chairman and director of Sims Metal Management Asia, and John Whittaker, trade law specialist and partner at Clyde & Co. LLP. In addition to insights from experts from around the globe, the conference will also include a field trip to the Montanwerke Brixlegg plant south of Munich.
